The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed it has received FIFA's proposal for the new FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative and will begin a formal review before making any decision. CAF President Patrice Motsepe is set to meet with the Executive Committee next week to assess the proposal, while all 54 Member Associations have been asked to examine the plan and participate in the consultation process.
Unlike some football governing bodies that have openly criticised the proposal, CAF has taken a neutral position, stressing that it has neither accepted nor rejected FIFA's plans. Instead, the organisation says it will carefully evaluate the initiative in consultation with African football stakeholders before reaching a decision.
CAF also reaffirmed that its primary objective remains increasing financial resources to support the development and growth of football across Africa. The federation believes any decision must ultimately benefit African football and its member associations.
The FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal has already sparked global debate, with several confederations raising concerns over governance and transparency. CAF's upcoming review is expected to play a significant role in determining how Africa responds to one of the biggest changes proposed in world football governance.
